Dr. Harry G. Cohen, M.D., F.A.C.P.
Dr. Cohen graduated with honors from Denison University, Granville, Ohio with a major in English literature and creative writing He went for one year to Boston College School of Law but decided instead to study medicine. He was accepted to medical school at USC, Keck School of Medicine, where he also graduated with honors and was elected to the medical honors national fraternity, Alpha Omega Alpha. He did his internship on the Tuft’s service of Boston City Hospital, and continued his residency training in internal medicine at LA County-USC Medical Center. Following this he did a fellowship in liver diseases with Dr. Telfer Reynolds also at USC Medical School.
Dr.Cohen’s publications include a New England Journal of Medicine, Clinical Pathologic Conference. He co-authored a study presaging auto immune dysregulation as in HIV/Aids published in the American Journal of Medicine. In addition, Dr.Cohen also wrote a paper on Amebic Liver Abcess which became the world standard of treatment and was referenced in Harrison’s Text Book of Internal Medicine.
Some honors were: presidency L.A. County Medical Association, San Fernando Valley Chapter and Chief of Staff and Member Board of Trustees at Encino Hospital. Dr. Cohen is Assistant Clinical Professor at Keck- USC Medical School. In addition to Internal Medicine, Dr. Cohen’s career long interest in neuro biochemistry has resulted in expertise in Anxiety and Depression, Headaches, and Sleep Disorders.
Dr. Cohen is licensed by the California State Board of Medical Examiners, the National Board of Medical Examiners, and Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of The American College of Physicians.
